Team salary cap

Tier 1 – No Cap

Tier 2 – Points based off of Roster Size

  • 15 or Less Players 40 points 
  • 16-22 Players 45 points

Salary Cap Point Values

    • All players will be valued at the highest level that applies to them ONLY
  • 6 Point Player
    • NWHL experience, PHF experience, USA Ball Hockey Women’s National Team Player (2019 or 2022 or 2024) 
    • Invited (attended or not) to the Final USA invite only Tryout for 2024
  • 5 Point Player
    • D1 Ice Hockey or other pro Women’s hockey experience
    • Member of First Team All Division in Women’s Tier or Men’s Tier 1/2 in the last NBHL season
    • MVP/F/D/G  Winner in last Women’s Tier NBHL season 
    • Received MVD/MVF/MVG in last year at any Women’s A or Coed A tournament 
  • 4 Point Player
    • Played in 2+ high level women’s tournaments (Women’s A, Co-ed A) within the last 3 years (If you are a depth player, you may appeal this value down to 3 points with the committee).
    • Played division 3 college hockey 
    • Member of Second Team All Division in Women’s Tier or Men’s Tier 1 and 2 in the last NBHL season
    • Women’s Masters National Team player (2023, 2022)
  • 3 Point Player
    • College women’s club ice hockey
    • Mid to low level women’s tournament player (Women’s B, Co-ed B, other tournaments). Played in any of these tournaments the last 3 years.
  • 2 Point Player
    • Non tournament player with any ball hockey experience (includes but not limited to any house leagues ex. Leominster women’s leagues, fitchburg womens, coed leagues, local leagues) or ice hockey experience (High School or Club Growing Up).
    • Someone with athletic experience but no hockey experience, average player
  • 0.5  Point Player
    • Non tournament player with no hockey experience
    • Minimal hockey skill and athletic experience, new player

*In regards to “women’s tournaments”, this includes NE Ball Hockey, Cool Hockey Events and/or UWBHF events. (North Americans, Springfest, Oktoberfest, Holiday Bash, NE Classic, US Outdoor Classic, etc) 

*After each tournament the committee has the right to re-evaluate a players cap and change it.  Captains can appeal salary cap value to tournament directors for their players or other teams’ players.  Tournament director will have final say and will use the committee below for all Women’s Salary Cap issues.
